The Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Bid Writer to manage the production of high-quality PQQs, tenders, and framework submissions. You’ll take ownership of the full bid process – from planning through to submission – while crafting engaging, tailored written content that clearly communicates our capabilities and values
Location: In person at our Offices Salary: Starting £40,000 per annum Duties:- Manage the end-to-end bid process, coordinating input from estimators, planners, project managers, and directors.
- Write clear, concise and persuasive content for PQQs, ITTs, and capability statements.
- Develop and maintain a library of case studies, CVs, technical responses, and template documents.
- Ensure that submissions are well-structured, visually appealing and fully compliant with client requirements.
- Review and analyse tender documents, identifying key win themes and submission strategies.
- Support lessons learned and continuous improvement across the bid function.

- Strong background in bid writing and bid management, preferably within the construction or built environment sectors.
- Excellent writing, proofreading and document presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently under pressure.
- A good eye for design and layout – experience using InDesign or similar desktop publishing software is preferred.
- Comfortable engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with public sector procurement, including local authority frameworks, is desirable.

We are seeking an experienced Estimator/QS to join our team. Based in Kent, the Candidate will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and competitive tenders, assessing project costs, and collaborating with various departments to ensure the successful delivery of bids. The ideal Candidate will have significant experience in Highways, Civil engineering and Groundworks.
Location: Based in Maidstone and Medway Salary: £60,000 per annum Duties:-
Estimating
Tender Preparation:
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for projects and schemes.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to ensure a thorough understanding of requirements.
- Quantify materials, labour, and plant requirements for groundworks and civil engineering projects, ensuring accuracy in cost projections.
Cost Analysis and Budgeting:
- Analyse project costs, including labour, materials, plant, and overheads, ensuring all components of the project are accurately accounted for.
- Develop cost breakdowns for tenders, ensuring that estimates reflect current market rates and align with company profitability goals.
- Develop resource and time related programme.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure that estimates are based on up-to-date supplier pricing and material availability.
- Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings to discuss project requirements, provide clarification, and ensure all relevant information is shared.
- Provide support to Bid writer
Project Handover:
- Provide detailed handover documentation and briefings to the project delivery team once a tender has been won, ensuring a smooth transition from tender to execution phase.
- Ensure that all estimates and costs are clearly communicated and that any potential risks or challenges are highlighted.
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the highways, civil engineering, groundworks, with a strong focus on Highways.
- Solid understanding of highways, civil engineering and groundworks methodologies, including drainage, foundations, earthworks, road construction, and Structures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the construction tendering process, including the preparation of bids
- Minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Proficiency in construction software and Excel
- Strong knowledge of standard construction contracts (JCT/NEC)
- A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying (HND, HNC, or Degree level).
- Professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, or equivalent) would be an advantage.
- Full UK driving license.
