Steadline were awarded a contract to refurbish an existing dilapidated swimming pool, construct a new pool house and design new hard landscaping around the existing pool at a Grade II listed Jacobean House in Sandhurst, Kent. The new owners had recently purchased the property wanted a suitable contract to undertake these works with previous experience.

Initial discussions were undertaken, and sketches provided to the new owners with several suggestions to try and keep the design, in keeping, practical and something that would enhance the area around the pool.

It was decided to construct an Oak framed building to match some of the existing buildings around the property which would be used as the new pool room. The area around the pool was agreed to be resin bound finish, this would be permeable, and give a non-slip finish for baths using the pool. This finish was carried into the pool room, and a golden pea gravel finish was chosen to contrast with the new Portland stone pool copings.

There was an area between the existing garages and the new pool room that was overgrown and unusable and in need of upgrading. To blend in with the new works programmed, it was agreed to build a tiered patio area here with sleeper boards as the ground slope considerably towards the new pool room. This area was constructed using reclaimed stone with brick on edge boards. With a resin bound path leading of and through the patio area. On completion of the hard landscaping, planting of the boards was undertaken, and plants chosen that would suit the location.
